The Financial Connections team is building the connective tissue between banks and the internet economy. The team is developing a platform that makes portable access to banking data available to businesses around the world in an ergonomic and secure way. The platform powers consumer experiences such as Link Instant Bank Payments and merchant experiences such as Stripe Capital.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable bank integration infrastructure.
Create intelligent systems that adapt to the availability of banking partners and enable connectivity for new countries and product use cases.
Scope and lead large technical projects, translating business goals into clear technical requirements and executing effectively.
Align the technology stack with Stripe's strategic initiatives while advocating for emerging businesses.
Collaborate with engineers across the company to deliver comprehensive and reliable access to trustworthy banking data.
Balance short-term requirements with long-term roadmaps, considering business priorities, user experience, and sustainable technical foundations.
Mentor and collaborate with engineers and managers to develop future leaders.

Requirements

Strong technical background, including 3+ years of experience designing and engineering large-scale systems.
Comfortable working on new products under fluid conditions while balancing tactical and strategic considerations.
Track record of leading and delivering complex cross-team projects end-to-end, from scoping and design through production and operations.
Focus on business impact rather than lines of code.
Ability to work with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to earn trust from co-workers at all levels.
Preference for simple, scalable solutions and designs over unnecessary complexity.
Commitment to mentoring and developing engineers.
