About the Team

The Solutions Architecture Team partners with users to realize their full potential through prescriptive solutions that drive growth and success. The team influences revenue growth across Stripe’s product portfolio and collaborates with sales, support, product management, and Stripe’s executive team to provide the best experience to valued customers.

Responsibilities

• Build highly consultative, trusted relationships with C-level executives and technical decision-makers to provide business and technical thought leadership.
• Architect business models that help users drive new monetization opportunities and growth.
• Serve as a key member of a Stripe account team, with deep involvement in defining customer strategy.
• Identify and close complex opportunities and accelerate solution adoption.
• Align Stripe solutions with customer product and business roadmaps, uncovering opportunities to accelerate customer progress.
• Advise stakeholders including CIOs, CTOs, COOs, CROs, CDOs, Heads of Product Engineering, and Heads of Payments.
• Understand customer business objectives and design and apply Stripe solutions to address their challenges.
• Develop end-to-end customer transformation journeys, future roadmaps, and architectures involving deep third-party integrations.
• Conduct business analysis and research on customers, industries, and competitors to support business growth.
• Lead strategy engagements through customer discovery, executive briefings, readouts, presentations, workshops, and solution demonstrations.
• Expand Stripe’s footprint within existing accounts and new global markets and business units by introducing new capabilities and local payment methods.
• Act as the voice of the customer by bringing insights, trends, and opportunities to leadership, product, and engineering teams.
• Participate in sales forecasting, quarterly business reviews, and account or territory planning.
• Travel approximately 25% to connect with users in person and collaborate internally.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role, such as solution consultant, solutions architect, or sales engineer, for a global software enterprise.
• 5+ years of experience in presales.
• Experience in payments, billing, invoicing, issuing, banking, or fintech.
• Executive engagement skills and presence, with the ability to establish relationships with key decision-makers and build credibility at all levels.
• Effective group-facilitation skills and confidence proposing and leading customer meetings.
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and API architectures.
• A background writing code in Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, or other primary deployment languages is a plus.
• Outstanding spoken and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to operate independently in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
• Passion for ownership and driving change in a constantly evolving environment.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to travel according to business needs.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience in media and entertainment, gaming, retail, or financial services.
• Prior consulting experience.
• Experience at a growth-stage internet or software company.
