Details

The Demo Studio translates OpenAI’s advanced capabilities into tangible, high-impact experiences for customers. The team operates at the intersection of product, engineering, design, and go-to-market, combining product-studio and live-production disciplines to build technically credible and narratively compelling experiences.

The Demo Studio Lead owns the end-to-end demo experience for OpenAI’s major events, webinars, and strategic programs. This includes defining narratives, architecting workflows, building high-fidelity demo environments, directing presenters, and ensuring flawless execution in live environments. The role requires product thinking, technical fluency, storytelling, systems design, and operational excellence. It also includes delivering live demonstrations to executive, technical, and industry audiences in mainstage, breakout, customer, and recorded settings.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end demo experience across OpenAI-hosted summits, webinars, third-party industry events, and strategic executive demonstrations.
  • Translate approved product positioning, real OpenAI capabilities, and audience needs into compelling narratives, believable customer workflows, and clear takeaways.
  • Build high-fidelity demo environments, working applications, and agent-driven workflows using ChatGPT Work, Codex, approved data, and connected tools.
  • Present live demonstrations to executive, technical, and industry audiences, adapting the story and level of detail in real time.
  • Lead technical and live-production readiness, including presenter rehearsals, capability validation, known limitations, troubleshooting, and recovery plans.
  • Design cohesive experiences across keynotes, breakouts, demo theaters, booths, webinars, and attendee-facing activations.
  • Partner with Product, Research, Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, Solutions Engineering, go-to-market, and Events teams to align on technical truth, approved claims, audience needs, and execution.
  • Create reusable golden narratives, reference demonstrations, presenter guidance, approved assets, and audience-specific adaptations.
  • Prioritize requests based on strategic audience value, customer benefit, product readiness, reuse potential, and available team capacity.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in technical product marketing and/or technical success roles.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to design end-to-end workflows and experiences.
  • Technical fluency and comfort working with APIs, AI systems, data, and modern development tools.
  • Experience building demos, prototypes, or customer-facing applications.
  • Strong storytelling instincts and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts into compelling narratives.
  • Exceptional live presentation skills and executive presence, with the ability to make complex technical work clear, credible, and compelling in scripted and unscripted settings.
  • Experience thriving in high-stakes environments such as launches, conferences, or live executive demonstrations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to craft, usability, and quality.
  • Ability to operate with significant ownership and autonomy in ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and troubleshoot effectively in real time.

This is not a traditional sales engineering role focused on feature walkthroughs, a pure design or engineering role with narrow scope, a presentation-only role without ownership of the underlying system, or a role limited to a single demo or deliverable.
