About the Team
The Startup Products team builds Stripe Atlas and other products that help founders start and run a company from anywhere in the world. The team helps founders form their company, raise capital, execute critical legal agreements, access the internet’s best tools, and automate operations.
The team is composed of high-agency, high-ownership product thinkers who care about helping founders and making it easier to start and run a startup. Each person is responsible for making the product the best it can be and ensuring the roadmap contains the highest-impact work for founders.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product engineers.
- Drive the roadmap with Product and Strategy, prioritizing, scoping, and delivering products that solve problems for Stripe Atlas users.
- Ensure the team ships quickly and reliably, prioritizing stability and observability.
- Encourage simple, straightforward solutions and help the team scope work that can be shipped incrementally.
- Represent the user—the startup founder—by encouraging engineers to speak directly with users and reframe problems from the users’ perspective.
- Build a culture of metrics and measurement, prioritizing work that supports defined user outcomes.
- Lead a team building software for founders and their agents.
- Own delivery of an ambitious roadmap and help shape products used by founders globally.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- A track record of leading teams that build excellent products.
- At least 3 years of engineering management experience and 10 or more years of engineering experience.
- Experience managing full-stack engineering teams.
- Deep care for user experience and pride in building products that solve problems and delight users.
- A preference for simple solutions and designs over complex ones, with good intuition for systems that will last and scale.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving product managers, designers, lawyers, data scientists, and other stakeholders and partners.
- A high quality bar, attention to detail, and the ability to help a team deliver polished products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Startup experience.
- Prior experience with Ruby, JavaScript or TypeScript, React, and SQL.
