Details

ClickHouse is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help build ClickStack, an open-source, petabyte-scale observability platform focused on providing an excellent developer experience. The platform brings logs, metrics, traces, and session replays together to help engineers monitor, debug, and scale production applications.

Responsibilities

Own and build key frontend and backend features that streamline debugging and monitoring for developers.
Collaborate with open-source contributors and customers, solve their challenges, and incorporate feedback into the product roadmap.
Improve HyperDX and ClickStack to process petabytes of observability data efficiently.
Develop analysis tools that help engineers diagnose production issues.
Scale the cloud-hosted platform to provide reliable performance for a growing customer base.

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably building developer tools.
Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills, including Next.js for frontend development and Express for backend development.
Strong proficiency in React.js.
Proficiency in SQL for query generation on ClickHouse.
Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
Passion for open source and the developer community.
Experience creating developer tooling and designing for developers.
Ability to work as a full stack JavaScript developer across frontend and backend systems.
Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Motivation to ship impactful customer-facing features and learn new technologies.

Bonus Qualifications

Expertise in distributed systems and event ingestion pipelines.
Experience with columnar databases.
Familiarity with observability tools and ideas for improving them.
Familiarity with Python, Rust, or PHP for building integrations.
Experience with SDKs.
