Details

Anthropic's Finance Systems team builds and owns the infrastructure powering the quote-to-cash lifecycle, including pricing, billing, revenue recognition, and financial close. The team is building production-grade financial applications and integrations beyond the capabilities of off-the-shelf platforms.

This hands-on engineering role involves configuring and extending platforms including Zuora, Stripe, and Tesorio, as well as designing, building, and owning full-stack applications and integrations. The engineer will write production Python, Node.js, and React code, author Workato recipes and API integrations across the SaaS stack, administer and tune systems, and build software supporting Accounting, Revenue Operations, and Order Management. The work must meet SOX and ASC 606 requirements.

The role will initially focus on Anthropic's homegrown ledger application and integrations with Workday, NetSuite, Zuora, Stripe, Tesorio, and Salesforce. Future work includes self-service workflows, automated reconciliation, and operational tools for Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture, development, and maintenance of internal finance applications.
  • Configure and administer third-party platforms such as Zuora, Workday, and Tesorio.
  • Build and maintain integrations across Zuora, Stripe, Workday, NetSuite, Salesforce, Tesorio, BigQuery, and billing applications.
  • Design auditable, observable, and recoverable system integrations that meet SOX compliance requirements.
  • Identify manual and error-prone month-end close workflows and automate them with tested, production-grade solutions.
  • Partner with Accounting, Revenue Operations, and Order Management to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs and implement them.
  • Maintain technical documentation, data flow diagrams, and runbooks.
  • Contribute to continuous delivery infrastructure for reliable and frequent releases.
  • Add observability tooling to detect broken pipelines proactively.
  • Become the domain expert for one or more areas of the revenue systems stack within the first six months.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience owning full-stack development from architecture through production deployment.
  • Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/Node.js; React experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience building and maintaining production system integrations, including REST APIs, event-driven pipelines, or ETL workflows.
  • Experience with BigQuery, Postgres, or similar data platforms.
  • Ability to write SQL for analysis, debugging, and reconciliation.
  • Ability to work directly in systems by configuring, troubleshooting, and building solutions.
  • Ability to work with ambiguous problems and develop solutions from scratch.
  • Strong business context and interest in working closely with Finance stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workato, MuleSoft, or similar iPaaS platforms.
  • Technical experience with Zuora, CPQ, NetSuite, Workday, or Stripe.
  • Experience building SOX-compliant systems or supporting an external financial-systems audit.
  • Understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition or consumption-based billing models.
  • Experience using Claude Code or similar AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience at a high-growth technology company navigating system consolidation.
  • Object-oriented programming experience in Java or similar languages.

Compensation

  • Annual salary: $205,000–$270,000 USD
