Frontend Engineer, Expansion

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Web Presence and Platform team designs and builds stripe.com and other public-facing sites, creating polished user experiences and the internal machinery that makes these surfaces fast, stable, and easy to update.

The Expansion pod focuses on attracting new prospects and driving conversion through user journeys, interactive tools, and targeted experiences for global users. This role will reimagine acquisition journeys, build original interactive tools and resources, enable prospective clients to identify the right Stripe product lines, and collaborate across design, engineering, and other cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with other engineers through pairing and mentoring while helping build a culture of excellence.
• Build beautiful, best-in-class end-user experiences to solve complex problems.
• Utilize, maintain, and extend design systems.
• Integrate the web platform with self-serve authoring and experimentation.
• Work across teams and technology stacks to create new site capabilities.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant web front-end development or creative technology experience at a tech-forward, product-driven company.
• Experience writing clear, elegant code in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for engineering solutions focused on growth hacking and enablement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, and proportion.
• Experience building complex interactive tools, including state management and data fetching.
• Proficiency with React, particularly interactions, animation, performance, and polish.
• Experience with A/B testing, synthetic monitoring, or accessibility testing.
