Bloomberg is seeking a highly experienced Global PeopleSoft Project Manager specializing in payroll systems to join payroll teams based in New York, London, Hong Kong, and São Paulo. The role is responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of international payroll processes, including coordinating inbound and outbound files, ensuring data is accurately loaded from source systems through to the general ledger, troubleshooting issues, recommending system enhancements, and coordinating multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and collaborate with Payroll, Engineering, HR, Benefits, and other internal partners to ensure payroll systems provide accurate employee payments and compliant reporting.
  • Coordinate global payroll processes with third-party vendors, internal team members, and business partners.
  • Manage payroll system setup, including annual schedules, calendar and register creation, earnings and deduction element setup, and exchange-rate validation for global payrolls.
  • Maintain setup tables for earnings and deduction elements across global payrolls.
  • Support monthly and annual expatriate processing.
  • Load, reconcile, and audit data feeds from Workday to PeopleSoft.
  • Manage monthly payroll data transmissions to vendor systems and identify and resolve data or transmission issues.
  • Prepare proofs, audits, and reconciliations; maintain monthly tracking worksheets to ensure completion of all tasks.
  • Produce, balance, troubleshoot, and develop general ledger processing with Accounting and HR technical teams in the United States and globally.
  • Assist with year-end processing, including incentive compensation, relocation expenses, salary increases, and global taxation of transferred employees.
  • Liaise with Payroll and Engineering teams to coordinate and support deployment and testing of tax bulletins for the United States and Canada, and provide backup support for United Kingdom tax bulletin testing and PeopleSoft processing issues.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining departmental documentation.
  • Provide training to global teams on process changes.
  • Coordinate projects involving Benefits, HR Technology, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Build system specifications and test-plan strategies for payroll system change requests.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of relevant payroll experience with a large company.
  • Excellent knowledge of PeopleSoft United States taxation, PeopleSoft Query, and United States payroll processing.
  • Strong multistate payroll experience.
  • Experience with payroll accounting and controls.
  • Knowledge of international payroll practices, auditing, and procedures.
  • Advanced Excel skills, particularly VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong focus and drive to complete tasks within designated timelines.
  • Ability to work with Engineering and other technical teams.
  • Ability to research and resolve complex inquiries, identify solutions, and follow through to resolution.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects while shifting priorities quickly.
  • Project management experience and the ability to drive processes preferred.
  • Global experience preferred.
