About the Team
The Solutions Architecture team at Metronome is a technical group working across sales, growth, product, and R&D. The team owns the technical aspects of the customer lifecycle between after-sales and handoff to post-implementation teams.
The role focuses on helping customers successfully implement Metronome’s products and realize value quickly.
Responsibilities
- Use proficient discovery and scoping to understand client challenges involving billing, product launches, pricing and packaging, quote-to-cash, customer experience, and related areas.
- Support clients throughout the implementation lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical design, integration design, testing, data migration, and launch.
- Provide expert guidance regarding usage-based pricing and consumption business models.
- Configure Metronome’s system on behalf of clients.
- Design integrations between Metronome’s APIs and client business systems, following Metronome best practices. Integration areas include CRM/CPQ, payments, taxation, ERP, billing providers, reporting, and analytics tools.
- Act as a liaison between the field and Metronome R&D to advocate for client needs and feature requests.
- Partner with implementation managers and project team members to provide progress visibility and proactively identify risks and issues.
- Build relationships with people at client organizations, from day-to-day operators to C-suite executives. The company believes in meeting customers in person whenever possible.
- Design integrations of Metronome into prospect systems and consultatively influence prospects’ pricing and packaging decisions.
- Ensure a proper handoff to post-implementation teams, including Customer Success and Technical Support.
Requirements
The engagements are complex, technical, and strategic. Metronome is a startup with significant opportunities for high-agency individuals to shape direction and strategy, build processes from zero to one, and make a broad impact.
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in technical and/or customer-facing roles involving SaaS products, such as sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical account management.
- Deep knowledge of the quote-to-cash space, including integration with or interaction with tools such as Salesforce, NetSuite, CPQs, billing, tax, and payments systems.
- Experience leading complex, multi-phase technology transformation programs for enterprise companies.
- Experience in fast-moving startup environments that value high agency.
- Ability to quickly learn and communicate technical concepts to technical, go-to-market, and finance stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm for building and improving go-to-market playbooks, processes, and reusable assets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a software engineer, product manager, or in another technical role.
- Strong understanding of project management and program management fundamentals and principles.
- Experience working with Finance/CFO, Engineering/CTO, Product/CPO, Sales Operations/CRO, or Billing Operations personas.
- Experience with logs, metrics, billing, finance, or other infrastructure and financial tooling and concepts.
