Product Designer, People Products

Details

The People Products team builds internal tools supporting Anthropic’s employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, teamwork, management, and promotions. This role focuses on designing AI-native workflows and internal products that improve people processes.

Responsibilities

• Design AI-native workflows across the People Products portfolio.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of internal tools through deep user empathy.
• Define feature areas with exceptional attention to detail and polished user experiences.
• Identify opportunities to improve the quality and consistency of broader product flows.
• Craft polished, delightful user interfaces that build trust and showcase AI capabilities.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, HR teams, recruiters, managers, and other internal stakeholders to define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
• Rapidly prototype ideas using code and other methods to communicate concepts.
• Ship high-quality work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and resource-constrained startup environment.

Requirements

• Experience designing complex workflows, enterprise or B2B SaaS products, or people products.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating user-centric design thinking, polished UI craftsmanship, and innovative interaction paradigms.
• A proven track record of executing end-to-end on large and complex products or a series of products in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to influence without authority.
• Passion for creating scaled, impactful, safe, and beneficial artificial intelligence technologies.
• Experience with prototyping, especially using front-end code such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, is preferred.
• Ability to ship quickly, prototype in code, and balance speed with product polish.
• Interest in questioning established UI primitives and creating interaction patterns that feel native to AI.
• Familiarity with using AI tools such as Claude Code, Claude Design, or similar tools in the design process.
• Awareness of evolving model capabilities and the ability to design for future product directions.
• Strong attention to detail, including pixels, copy, and edge cases.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• The required field of study should be relevant to the role through coursework, training, or professional experience.
• Required years of experience correlate with the internal job level requirements.

Benefits and Logistics

• Annual salary range of $260,000–$385,000 USD.
• Hybrid policy requiring staff to work from one of Anthropic’s offices at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more time in the office.
• Anthropic sponsors visas where possible and makes reasonable efforts to support visa applications, with assistance from an immigration lawyer.
