Details

Anthropic is building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. Claude is used for security work, including finding and fixing vulnerabilities in real codebases, triaging alerts, and reasoning about attacker movement through systems. Anthropic has also shipped its first security product, Claude Security.

The Product Manager will lead Anthropic's cybersecurity product portfolio, including product strategy, partnerships, product delivery, and external representation with CISOs, security vendors, and researchers. The role includes both creating new first-party products and scaling existing capabilities. Cybersecurity work spans research, engineering, safeguards, policy, legal, communications, and other teams.

Responsibilities

  • Set Anthropic's cybersecurity product portfolio strategy and be accountable for results.
  • Ship security products, including vulnerability discovery and remediation in Claude Code and broader future capabilities.
  • Represent Anthropic externally with CISOs, vendors, researchers, governments, and the press.
  • Partner with research to understand where models fall short on security tasks and help build improvement plans.
  • Work with safeguards and policy on model access for cybersecurity.
  • Coordinate cross-functional work across research, engineering, sales, safeguards, policy, legal, and communications.

Requirements

  • Meaningful experience in security, such as building security products, running a security team, or working in application security, detection and response, vulnerability research, or offensive security.
  • Experience building products or businesses from scratch and taking them to paying customers.
  • Ability to design for future model capabilities while establishing reliability standards and determining what can be shipped in the meantime.
  • Strong product judgment and sufficient technical depth to assess whether security findings are real.
  • Willingness to perform unglamorous work.
  • Strong communication skills with CISOs, researchers, and executives.
  • Preferred: 12+ years of experience building and shipping products, particularly in security.
  • Preferred: Fluency with AI products, including evaluations and model behavior as part of the product surface.
  • Preferred: Technical background or experience working closely with infrastructure or platform teams.
  • Preferred: Strong technical judgment and ability to go deeply into security and infrastructure topics.
  • Preferred: Structured thinking and ability to break down complex compliance requirements into shippable features.
  • Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Compensation

Annual salary: $385,000–$460,000 USD.

Work Policy and Logistics

Anthropic currently expects staff to work from one of its offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time. Anthropic sponsors visas when possible and makes reasonable efforts to obtain visas for candidates who receive an offer, with support from an immigration lawyer.
