Details

Sentry's Security Team secures its customers, code, and infrastructure. This role focuses on detecting and responding to security risks while implementing preventative controls across detection and response and corporate security domains. You will work on alert triage, detection engineering, identity and access management, investigations, incident response, and other security initiatives in a developer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, improve, and own detection engineering systems, including Sentry's detection stack and agentic triage, response, and orchestration automation.
  • Perform investigations and contribute to security incident response across a range of incident types affecting Sentry and its customers.
  • Contribute to, maintain, and operate identity and access management systems.
  • Research, identify, and respond to emerging threats relevant to Sentry, including threats related to agentic product features and AI-assisted engineering practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to prevent and respond to security incidents.
  • Contribute to adjacent security projects spanning application security, infrastructure security, governance, and privacy.
  • Prefer scalable, automated, high-signal security solutions over noisy manual triage processes.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of industry experience in detection and response, corporate security, or generalist security engineering.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, equivalent training, or professional experience.
  • Hands-on experience with several of the following: alert triage; detection tuning and writing; detection-as-code; security log ingestion; security investigations and incident response; identity and access management (IAM); phishing response; user access reviews; and endpoint detection and response tooling.
  • Programming experience in at least one language, with Python preferred, and comfort using agentic development workflows.
  • Familiarity with distributed cloud technologies and environments, including AWS, CI/CD, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
  • Experience with corporate security tooling such as SSO, SAML, and IAM, as well as defensive security tooling such as EDR, SIEM, CNAPP, and ZTNA.
  • Collaborative problem-solving skills and strong written and verbal communication.

Benefits

  • Employee benefit plans and programs applicable to the position.
  • Incentive compensation.
  • Equity grants.
  • Paid time off.
  • Group health insurance coverage.
  • Plus up to 20% bonus.

The base salary range is $155,000 to $400,000 USD. Actual compensation depends on factors including work location, education, experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.
