As a Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer in Eneco's Core Infra team, you will help design, build, and continuously improve the Azure cloud platform used across Eneco. You will create standards, patterns, automation, and capabilities that enable teams to use Azure securely, consistently, scalably, and efficiently.

This is primarily a platform engineering, enablement, and governance role focused on planning, architecture, design, and translating business and technical requirements into robust cloud solutions. You will also contribute hands-on to implementation and improvement, while day-to-day operational execution is handled through established service and support arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve Eneco's Azure cloud platform.
• Create cloud standards, reusable patterns, automation, and platform capabilities.
• Translate business and technical requirements into cloud architectures, technical designs, implementation plans, and actionable work.
• Provide technical guidance and support to teams implementing Azure solutions.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, standardised, reliable, and cost-efficient cloud solutions.
• Work with internal customers, architects, security teams, engineers, product teams, and external technology partners.
• Contribute to cloud governance, automation, standardisation, security, reliability, and cost optimisation.
• Participate in technical discussions and project work across the Digital & Tech organisation.

Requirements

Must have

• More than 5 years of experience.
• Strong hands-on Azure experience, preferably in an enterprise environment working on cloud foundations or platform capabilities.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Bicep, Terraform, and/or ARM templates.
• Experience with CI/CD and automation, with Azure DevOps as a primary tool.
• Good scripting and development skills using PowerShell, shell scripting, and Python.
• Strong Azure networking knowledge, including VNets, subnets, hub-and-spoke architectures, routing, connectivity, DNS, firewalls, and related networking components.
• Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, and standardised cloud solutions.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into cloud architecture, technical designs, implementation plans, and actionable work.
• Experience working with internal customers, architects, security teams, and external technology partners.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive mindset toward automation, standardisation, governance, security, reliability, and cost optimisation.

Good to have

• AWS and/or OCI experience or certification.
• Experience with cloud architecture or platform engineering in a large enterprise environment.
• Experience defining cloud standards, reference architectures, landing zones, or reusable platform patterns.

Work Environment

You will join Eneco's Core Infra team in Rotterdam and work closely with engineers, architects, security specialists, product teams, and external partners. The role is hybrid, combining focused days from home with collaboration days at Eneco's Rotterdam headquarters. The standard arrangement is 40% at the office, 40% from home, and 20% flexibly. With manager approval, employees may work abroad within approved countries for up to three weeks per year, with a maximum of two consecutive weeks.
