Senior Mobile Engineer - Grafana Ops - IRM

Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to join the Grafana Incident Response Management (IRM) squad. The role focuses on designing, building, operating, and maintaining Grafana’s mobile application, which helps organizations detect, respond to, and learn from incidents with minimal toil.

The IRM team operates business-critical services used by organizations worldwide, including systems supporting essential medical devices and critical infrastructure. The team values a unified experience, automation and integration, and observability-native functionality.

Responsibilities

• Influence the product roadmap and define personal career objectives.
• Work with the team to deliver new features and use results to iterate and improve.
• Drive projects from initial ideation through production operations.
• Contribute to open-source projects, including projects outside the direct scope of the team.
• Design, build, operate, and maintain Grafana’s mobile application.
• Own the reliability, performance, and availability of the application.
• Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of the application in production.
• Mentor and support team members.
• Participate in design discussions and collaborate with the team.
• Develop a deeper understanding of Grafana Cloud, its customers, and the codebase of a large distributed system.

Requirements

• Experience with at least one native mobile platform, Android or iOS.
• Strong experience building production Flutter applications, including state management, navigation, asynchronous programming, and maintainable codebase architecture.
• Experience taking mobile features from idea to release, including clarifying requirements, exploring solutions, building, testing, creating CI/CD workflows, and shipping updates to the App Store and Google Play.
• Comfort integrating mobile applications with backend APIs and cloud services.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and performant code that other engineers can understand and extend.
• A motivated, self-starting approach with a bias toward action.
• Customer focus and a passion for creating intuitive products.
• Pragmatism when breaking down complex challenges, delivering MVPs, gathering feedback, and iterating.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fully remote environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience using Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles, including on-call experience or hobby/homelab usage.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems, or a desire to learn.
• Familiarity with on-call work, operations, SRE tasks, or infrastructure as code.
• Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects.

Compensation

For the Republic of Ireland, the base compensation range is EUR 104,000–130,000 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset. Compensation ranges and benefits are country-specific; recruiters will discuss the applicable market range for candidates applying from other listed locations.
