Details
NVIDIA is seeking a Site Lab Operations Manager for its Systems Product Team. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing lab space allocation, and anticipating the operational needs of engineering teams in a datacenter product environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical employees, managers, and partners to provide lab capacity and services for engineering teams.
- Manage lab space allocation for R&D, product development, thermal mechanical, software, and hardware engineering projects.
- Develop a high-level understanding of engineering operations, equipment needs, and facility requirements.
- Serve as a lab space broker by allocating lab capacity efficiently and fairly across the company.
- Lead small-scale lab infrastructure projects, moves, and upgrades.
- Anticipate the needs of engineering teams using operational knowledge and experience.
- Maintain and track physical space using web-based tools, inventory sheets, and visual layouts.
- Conduct safety reviews and identify opportunities to improve operational safety and efficiency.
- Travel occasionally within the Bay Area for site visits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- Engineering background with strong experience with lab equipment and technology.
- Junior management experience and a minimum of five years of experience in an innovative product development environment.
- Experience managing corporate real estate or infrastructure projects in a high-tech setting.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for engaging with stakeholders and leadership.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and explore new technologies.
- Ability to navigate conflicting objectives, negotiate with suppliers and support services, and solicit quotes.
- Excellent attention to detail, prioritization, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft SharePoint, and Jira.
- Experience in high-tech construction project management.
- Familiarity with the datacenter product ecosystem.
- Proactive and outgoing approach to engaging with customer engineering teams in the lab environment.
