Details

Do you get a thrill from building infrastructure that millions of people rely on every single day? Then you’ll feel right at home at Funda. At a platform of our scale, every tweak matters – and as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you play a key role in keeping everything running smoothly. With 99.99% uptime we’re more reliable than many banks, and that’s only possible with a team that stays curious, sharp and unafraid to push boundaries. Love technical puzzles and making systems smarter? Then we’d love to meet you.

Role overview

As an SRE at Funda, you’ll help shape the infrastructure behind one of the most-visited websites in the Netherlands. You build, innovate and keep things stable while switching between cloud, pipelines, monitoring and supporting our development teams. Expect lots of variety, plenty of ownership and space to dive deep into complex systems.

Responsibilities

  • Optimise the development environment so engineers can build faster and friction-free.
  • Modernise legacy components while helping evolve cloud infrastructure.
  • Join the on-call rotation for incidents one week per month (only after thorough onboarding). Incidents are rare and usually fixed within ~30 minutes.
  • Act as the dedicated SRE contact for one of our development teams.
  • Contribute actively to knowledge sharing within the SRE team and across the organisation.

Team

You’ll join the SRE team: a close-knit, diverse and driven group of nine colleagues responsible for the entire Funda platform infrastructure. Small team, big responsibility and lots of impact.

Requirements

  • Experience as an SRE or DevOps Engineer.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure, Terraform and Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable in both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to dive into unfamiliar systems.
  • Bonus: experience with C#, Python, SQL or OpenSearch.
  • Must currently live in the Netherlands and speak fluent English (Dutch is a plus).

  • 25 paid days off per year and option to buy more.
  • Working hours negotiable: 32/36/40 per week.
  • 60% pension coverage.
  • Learning budget up to €2,000/year plus access to internal courses.
