Software Engineer, Authorization Infrastructure

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The authorization infrastructure team builds platforms that ensure proper authorization for users and services, enforce access controls, provide access observability and policy governance, and help teams across Stripe protect resources and user data securely and in compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain reliable, performant, and scalable authorization infrastructure, including libraries, frameworks, and services.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the authorization needs of product and infrastructure teams.
• Build comprehensive, easy-to-use, policy-driven authorization solutions.
• Collaborate with users to help them adopt authorization solutions and protect their resources while providing a great user experience.
• Build access visibility and continuous policy governance to help resource owners, legal, and compliance teams control the risk of inappropriate access.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of professional hands-on software development experience.
• Experience in the security domain.
• A curious and learning mindset, regardless of level or experience.
• Empathy, strong communication skills, and a deep respect for collaboration.
• Ability to work well cross-functionally and across teams, building trust with coworkers at all levels.
• Ability to drive clear next steps in ambiguous areas without clear lines of ownership.
• Creative and holistic problem-solving approach.
• Preference for simple, lasting, and scalable solutions and designs.
• High standards for code quality and a constructive attitude toward helping others raise the bar.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the authorization domain.
• Experience with Go, Java, or Ruby.
