Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform used by businesses worldwide. The Specialist Solutions Architect will serve as a domain expert for Stripe Radar, advising pre-sales teams, supporting complex opportunities, influencing product development, and helping customers address fraud and risk challenges.

Stripe Radar is an integrated fraud and risk management platform designed to protect businesses from payment fraud, account takeovers, first-party misuse, policy abuse, and other forms of financial loss.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert on Stripe's Radar product suite and accelerate opportunities globally.
  • Advise on fraud and risk management trends, including AI-powered detection, processor-agnostic architectures, payment fraud, policy abuse, account takeover, and first-party misuse.
  • Develop expertise in advanced fraud system architectures, including rule management, machine learning model tuning, and manual review optimization.
  • Understand risk and identity integrations such as device fingerprinting, identity verification, bot mitigation, and case management.
  • Define and share best practices, reusable assets, and reference architectures with the broader go-to-market organization.
  • Partner with the Radar product sales team on strategy for large and complex customers and own key customer relationships.
  • Partner with the Radar product team on new products and features.
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally and provide insights into competitive conditions and emerging fraud vectors.
  • Escalate complex technical issues and work with Stripe's engineering team to resolve them.
  • Support account and deal strategy and answer product, feature, and technical questions.
  • Provide the Sales team with tools and training to qualify potential leads.
  • Support executive briefings, conferences, user groups, trade shows, and other marketing events.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in pre-sales, technical consulting, product, or risk strategy focused on e-commerce fraud prevention, risk management, or trust and safety.
  • Deep knowledge of payment fraud, including card-not-present fraud, account takeover, first-party misuse, policy abuse, and content abuse.
  • Knowledge of risk management architectures, including rules engines, machine learning models, and manual review queues.
  • Strong knowledge of fraud detection signals and data, including device and IP data, behavioral biometrics, identity verification, and graph-based analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering and architecture patterns, including how different technologies and systems interact.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to solve open-ended business problems using technology and creative thinking.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships, deal effectively with ambiguity, and thrive in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating Stripe or other RESTful APIs into web applications.
  • Experience with processor-agnostic fraud solutions and multi-processor payment environments.
  • Experience with risk management for platforms, marketplaces, subscription services, digital goods, and SaaS businesses.
  • Familiarity with liability shift programs, chargeback guarantees, and value-based pricing models for risk products.
  • Understanding of extending fraud protection to payouts, physical payments, and recurring billing.
  • Experience as a subject matter expert in a relevant industry, vertical, or product.
