Details

SpaceXAI is seeking students to join its Spring 2027 software engineering internship and co-op roles. Interns will work closely with mentors and other employees to apply their knowledge and develop their skills on impactful projects. The work supports SpaceXAI's mission of creating AI systems that understand the universe, including Grok and Starmind.

Responsibilities

Contribute to software engineering projects with significant impact.
Apply academic knowledge to real-world software development.
Work closely with mentors and team members.
Debug software, optimize performance, and create unit tests.
Document software, create system diagrams, and enumerate software requirements.
Communicate knowledge concisely and accurately.
Work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree or graduate program.
At least 3 months of software programming or development experience.
Software coding experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Able to work full time onsite for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning in January or March 2027.

Preferred Skills And Experience

GPA of 3.5 or above.
At least 6 months of experience developing and deploying software used in real-world applications and projects.
Strong fundamental knowledge of computer architecture and networks.
Experience with software documentation, system diagrams, and software requirements.
Strong debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively.
