Sr. IT Data Engineer

SpaceXAI's IT Data Engineering team implements and supports applications that help internal customers meet their operational needs. The team establishes processes for continual improvement, guides administration, and partners with multiple stakeholders on project-based initiatives. The mission is to keep the business running effectively while maintaining a healthy application environment.

Responsibilities

• Help lead SpaceXAI's data strategy by implementing established ETL patterns, creating and supporting dependable infrastructure, and developing reusable components.
• Partner with business and engineering teams to prioritize requests and consistently deliver excellent results against time-sensitive priorities.
• Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment using strong interpersonal communication skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; a Computer Science degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an enterprise environment.
• Strong experience with databases such as Vertica, MySQL, or similar, and advanced SQL.
• Java development experience with Spring, JEE, or JSE, and proficiency in Python or other modern programming languages.
• Hands-on experience with integrations, APIs, and message queuing technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Experience working with third-party APIs, including Salesforce and Workday.
• Background working in an Agile environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with API gateways such as Kong, RAML, and REST-based APIs.
• Experience designing and deploying scalable, reliable, high-volume data integrations and real-time pipelines.
• Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, MongoDB, HBase, and Cassandra.
• Experience with on-premises and cloud enterprise solutions, including Oracle, Salesforce, and Workday.
• Scala or Scalding experience.
• Deep knowledge of access control and data security.
• Experience leading Data, BI, or Analytics projects with a customer-first approach.
• Experience with custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Experience with performance monitoring, error logging, and troubleshooting Java applications.

• Base salary: $172,000–$258,000 USD per year.
