Details

Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company, with quarterly in-person working sessions called “surges.” The Security Platform Engineering team builds platform capabilities for security, compliance, and privacy use cases, including secrets and key management, identity and access management, onchain security, policy and risk management, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

Architect and develop platforms for the security platform engineering organization.
Provide technical structure to teams and work with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps.
Build new services using Golang and Java to meet critical product and business needs.
Design scalable systems using modern cloud technology and industry best practices.
Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with technical expertise.
Mentor and train team members on design techniques and coding standards.
Articulate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems and the teams operating them.
Work with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn product and technical vision into quarterly roadmaps.
Write high-quality, well-tested code; debug difficult technical problems; and improve system deployment, operation, ownership, and diagnosis.
Review feature designs within the product area and cross-cutting company projects, owning security, safety, scale, operational integrity, and architectural clarity.

Requirements

At least 8 years of software engineering experience.
Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services.
Knowledge of composing service-oriented architectures.
Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code.
Strong technical skills in system design and coding.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bias toward open and transparent cultural practices.
Responsible use of generative AI, maintaining human oversight while delivering business-ready outputs and improving workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together.

Compensation

The annual base salary is ₹9,424,500 INR, excluding equity and bonus. Total compensation may also include equity, bonus eligibility, and medical, dental, and vision benefits.
