Anthropic is seeking a Workday Business Systems Analyst to join its People Systems team. The role owns the technical configuration, testing, security, and operational excellence of Workday HRIS across Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking (PATT), and Core HCM. The position partners with People, Finance, IT, Payroll, and other teams to deliver a secure, scalable, and effective HRIS in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

PATT and HCM

  • Configure and maintain Workday Payroll, including pay components, earnings and deductions, pay groups, period schedules, and payroll-related business processes.
  • Configure and maintain Absence, including time-off plans, accrual rules, eligibility criteria, and leave types.
  • Configure and maintain Time Tracking, including time entry templates, validations, work schedules, calendars, and overtime calculations.
  • Configure and maintain Core HCM foundations, including supervisory organizations, staffing models, job profiles, job and compensation structures, custom organizations, and worker data integrity.
  • Support recurring People cycles such as compensation reviews, open enrollment, and organizational restructures.
  • Design, build, and maintain business process definitions, condition rules, calculated fields, custom validations, routing and approval logic, and notifications.
  • Partner with Payroll to troubleshoot configuration-driven issues, including gross-to-net discrepancies, retroactive calculations, and off-cycle errors.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Workday role-based, user-based, and intersection security groups, domain security policies, business process security policies, and integration system users (ISUs).
  • Support security and data audits using Workday delivered and custom audit reports.
  • Perform impact analysis for changes affecting HCM, payroll, absence, time data, and security.
  • Lead testing and adoption for Workday’s twice-yearly releases, including feature assessment, regression testing, and rollout of selected features.

Across the Platform

  • Translate business requirements into scalable system designs and document configuration decisions.
  • Build relationships with technical and non-technical partner teams.
  • Support change management by communicating updates, preparing documentation and enablement materials, and supporting adoption.
  • Build and maintain advanced, matrix, and composite reports and dashboards.
  • Support mass data changes through EIB.
  • Configure alerts, scheduled reports, and report security.
  • Triage and resolve system issues by identifying root causes.
  • Explore AI and automation opportunities in testing, documentation, requirements drafting, ticket triage, report generation, and People Systems operations.
  • Drive process automation and optimization with the People team and partner functions.

Requirements

  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Workday Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, business process configuration, and security.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Workday Core HCM.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of Workday architecture, security models, and integration methodologies.
  • Experience with full-lifecycle Workday implementations and/or significant module expansions.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, relationship-building, documentation, and prioritization skills.
  • Commitment to HR data security, privacy, and process excellence.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and/or experience in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience as a Workday Business Systems Analyst.
  • Workday Pro accreditations or Workday partner certifications in HCM, Payroll, Absence, or Time Tracking.
  • Familiarity with EIB, Core Connectors including PECI, PICOF, and DCoD, Workday Studio, SOAP/REST Web Services, RaaS, inbound and outbound integration patterns, SSO, SFTP, API keys, certificates, error handling, reconciliation, and monitoring.
  • Exposure to Workday Prism Analytics, Extend, and advanced reporting.
  • Experience applying AI tools to HRIS or People Operations, or strong interest in developing this capability.
  • Knowledge of complementary HR and Finance systems, integration patterns, data privacy regulations, and security best practices.
