Details

Anthropic is seeking a Customer Trust Specialist to lead customer-facing security engagements that build trust and transparency for large enterprises using Claude for critical workloads. The role partners with Go-to-Market, Legal, Deal Desk, Product, and Security teams to help customers and auditors understand Anthropic’s security posture.

The position is an individual contributor role suited to someone who works independently, handles complex security matters, and can translate difficult customer issues into reusable positions, playbooks, and knowledge-base content. The role also involves using Claude to automate evidence gathering, support research and knowledge building, and develop internal tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate security terms and schedules with regulated enterprise customers, determining what to hold, what to escalate, and when new positions should be developed with Legal.
  • Manage complex customer questionnaires, RFPs, and security assessments that fall outside the standard answer bank.
  • Lead onsite and remote security audits with strategic accounts, including agenda development, control walkthroughs, disputed findings, and documented closure.
  • Present Anthropic’s security posture to customer CISOs and answer detailed questions about architecture, data handling, retention, tenancy, and model training.
  • Contribute to Legal-approved positions, the canonical answer bank, and audit runbooks.
  • Help build AI-powered questionnaire and RFP automation, automate information gathering across internal systems, and verify machine-drafted responses.
  • Write and maintain customer-facing trust artifacts, including white papers, FAQs, Trust Center content, and architecture diagrams.
  • Verify that security claims accurately reflect how Anthropic’s systems operate.
  • Route control gaps and new-capability requests to Product and Security owners and follow through to closure.
  • Identify patterns across audits, questionnaires, and negotiations and surface them to Customer Trust and Security leadership.
  • Track engagement metrics, including escalation volume, remediation follow-through, and deal impact, and report on them regularly.

Requirements

  • Solid security expertise in at least one domain, including security engineering or governance, risk, and compliance, with working fluency across the others.
  • Hands-on experience with customer-facing security work, such as audits, security questionnaires, contract security terms, or executive briefings with regulated enterprises.
  • Ability to maintain a security position under pressure, balance business needs against security requirements, and recognize when a position should change.
  • Ability to discuss security with customer CISOs and verify technical claims with infrastructure engineers.
  • Experience writing positions, playbooks, or standard answers used by colleagues.
  • Clear written communication skills for positions, runbooks, and summaries.
  • Ability to coordinate Engineering, Legal, and GRC colleagues and drive work to completion without direct authority.
  • Ability to work independently and create the structure needed to be effective.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of experience in security across any domain.
  • At least 3 years of security leadership experience, ideally as Head of Security or a similar role at an early-stage company.
  • Experience applying LLMs to security assurance or GRC work, including questionnaire automation, evidence retrieval, or claim verification.
  • Familiarity with financial services security expectations, third-party risk programs, regulatory exam readiness, DORA, and PCI DSS.
  • Familiarity with AI-specific trust topics, including training data handling, retention architectures, regional inference, and customer-managed encryption.
  • Experience at a company whose product received significant enterprise security scrutiny.
  • Experience supporting contract negotiations by reviewing and refining security clauses and commitments.
  • Understanding of AI system risks and security considerations for ML and AI products.
  • Strong technical security documentation and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and prioritization skills, including the ability to balance customer requests, assess risk against business impact, and make decisions independently.

Prior AI-industry experience, formal certifications, and a law degree are not required.
