Applied AI Technical Evangelist, Startup Ecosystem

Anthropic is seeking a Technical Evangelist for its Startups team to drive awareness and developer adoption among startup founders and technical teams. The role focuses on helping developers progress from their first Claude API call to production deployment through hands-on technical activation, live demos, workshops, technical content, and startup ecosystem programming.

Responsibilities

Drive Developer Adoption Through Technical Activation

• Lead hands-on developer sessions at ecosystem events, helping startup founders progress from their first API call to platform adoption.
• Design and run build-a-thons, technical office hours, and workshops at VC and accelerator events.
• Develop repeatable playbooks that convert ecosystem touchpoints into developer sign-ups and active usage.
• Partner with the Startups GTM team on the transition from relationship to activation to retention.

Build Technical Content and Demonstrations

• Create production-quality code samples, reference architectures, tutorial repositories, and blog posts.
• Build live demos and prototypes for common startup use cases using Claude.
• Collaborate with Product to ensure technical content reflects current platform capabilities and differentiators.

Own Startup Developer Programming

• Lead the technical track at Anthropic builder summits and global startup activations.
• Design live-coding-focused sessions that help developers begin building within a single event.
• Build relationships with open-source contributors, developer platforms, and accelerator cohorts.
• Act as a trusted technical resource for startup founders.

Partner Across GTM and Product

• Share developer feedback and ecosystem insights with internal teams.
• Work with GTM, Sales, and Marketing on developer-focused activation campaigns.
• Collaborate with the Startups Partnerships team to translate VC and accelerator relationships into developer engagement and usage.
• Stay aligned with Product on platform strategy and Claude's capabilities.

Define and Scale Success

• Own metrics related to developer activation, net new logos, and ecosystem engagement.
• Build reporting that connects developer programs to business outcomes.
• Create repeatable processes that scale with the startup ecosystem.

Requirements

• Experience founding a company or working as an early startup employee, with exposure to the 0-to-1 product journey.
• Ability to write production-quality code and build live demos for technical audiences.
• 7+ years of combined experience across founding, building, and technical roles; developer relations or evangelism experience is a plus.
• Strong public-speaking skills and the ability to engage highly technical audiences and answer challenging follow-up questions.
• Hands-on experience building with large language models and shipping AI-powered products.
• Understanding of real-world production tradeoffs in AI development.
• Experience converting relationships with VCs, accelerators, or developer communities into measurable developer adoption.
• Willingness to travel regularly and work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends for events.
• Enthusiasm for building AI responsibly and alignment with Anthropic's mission.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
