Brief info about Vinted

Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:

Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.

Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.

Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.

Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people.

Information about the position

The Chief of Staff is part of the senior leadership team of the Vinted-wide Data Science & Analytics function. Your primary role will be to build an aligned, engaged, and impactful team while ensuring the successful management and execution of key data strategies and initiatives. The Chief of Staff reports directly to the Vice President of Data Science & Analytics (“VP of DSA”) and acts as a trusted advisor and partner in ensuring that the department runs smoothly, efficiently, and effectively.

This is a fixed-term (maternity cover) position for approximately 1 year.

In this position, you’ll

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the VP of DSA, providing advice and guidance on all matters within the function (e.g. operating cadence, planning, problem analysis, communication).
  • Own and run the function’s reporting cycles end-to-end (e.g. QBRs, OKR meetings, DSA All Hands); including content creation, preparation, facilitation, and follow-ups.
  • Be responsible for coordinating the development and driving the execution of key function strategies and initiatives (e.g. data related initiatives that drive long-term impact), and supporting broader cross-functional and organisational initiatives that involve DSA (e.g. reorganisations and operating model shifts).
  • Oversee and manage recurrent DSA operations (e.g. DSA’s onboarding programme as well as the Data Science & Analytics Academy programme).
  • Own the delivery of key functional events, including planning groups and agenda development (e.g. offsites, function week).
  • Be accountable for maintaining an efficient operating model by ensuring processes, policies, and ceremonies are in place and effective, fostering an aligned, engaged, and impactful team.
  • Support the DSA leadership team on the integration of AI into our data team’s (300+ team members) workflows.
  • Be the driving force behind the senior and extended DSA leadership teams; coordinating and managing meetings, keeping track of decisions and pending relevant actions, holding the group accountable, and ensuring follow-through.
  • (Co-) author key documents on function-related topics, ranging from vision and strategy papers to process and standards documentation, based on high-level instructions and discussions with the team and stakeholders.
  • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to the function, and provide recommendations to the DSA leadership team.
  • Own the organisation and documentation of the function’s governance (e.g., Google Groups, Drive, Confluence spaces, Slack Channels).

About you

  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong facilitation and moderation skills, with experience designing and leading workshops to discuss strategic priorities, build alignment, and drive decision-making.
  • Comfortable interpreting aggregate (analytical) data and turning it into actional conclusions – but advanced data analysis skills are not required.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands on and detail-oriented problem solver, able to identify operational gaps and inefficiencies.
