Bloomberg Data Quality Analytics is a fast-paced, innovative and expanding team that partners closely with clients to understand their businesses and individual data and financial technology needs. The team works with datasets covering all asset types, using multiple delivery technologies and flexible scheduling to provide clients with the data they need in their preferred format.

The Product Analyst in Enterprise Data will work closely with various stakeholders as a gatekeeper responsible for data quality throughout product development, launch and enhancement. The role involves using quantitative skills, financial knowledge and technical skills to analyze data for products including reference and pricing, company fundamentals, sustainable finance solutions, risk and investment analytics, and other Bloomberg Data License products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform large-scale data analysis.
  • Prepare exploratory data analyses with statistical and visual summaries.
  • Assess data and product quality, identify product weaknesses and propose potential enhancements.
  • Communicate results to product managers and software developers.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Sales teams on product delivery, task prioritization and product roadmaps.
  • Answer client questions and address client feedback through product enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Conduct product usage analysis to improve data product offerings.
  • Help scale team activities through automation, including monitoring daily production data generation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in analytical fields such as data science, quantitative analysis, data visualization, data mining, anomaly detection or data validation.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Financial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance or Engineering.
  • Financial knowledge across asset classes such as equities, fixed income, mortgages, municipal bonds, futures and options.
  • Strong attention to data integrity.
  • Programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Statistics and mathematical knowledge for quantitative analysis.
  • Experience gathering, matching and preprocessing large datasets from varied sources and with different characteristics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with clients, business managers or product managers to identify needs and proactively communicate project processes.
