Details

ING Hubs Poland is hiring for a platform-focused role supporting SAS environments and analytical model operations.

The expected gross monthly salary is:

  • Core range: 9,600–17,000 PLN
  • Exceptional range: 17,000–21,000 PLN

The exceptional range applies to candidates who demonstrate advanced expertise in SAS platforms, including SAS 9, SAS Viya 3.5, and SAS Viya 4; take ownership of complex operational and onboarding challenges; improve platform stability, automation, and model deployment processes; and provide additional value through mentoring, knowledge sharing, or broad expertise spanning SAS, cloud technologies, and analytical platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain SAS components on the new platform to enable smooth onboarding of new models.
  • Support the deployment and operational lifecycle of analytical and risk models, including publishing, versioning, and scoring workflows.
  • Manage SAS platform artefacts, including libraries, caslib-equivalent structures, folders, authorisations, and access control.
  • Collaborate with modelers to troubleshoot issues in model execution, data access, or environment configuration.
  • Use SAS CLI and existing automation frameworks to execute routine tasks and assist with semi-automated deployment flows.
  • Manage platform-level configuration that does not involve Kubernetes infrastructure, which is maintained by a separate team.
  • Improve operational procedures, documentation, and the knowledge base for modelling teams.
  • Monitor SAS-related services, excluding Kubernetes; analyse logs, identify bottlenecks, and propose corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards for security, confidentiality, integrity, and stability.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, refinements, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Requirements

  • Experience administering SAS environments, including SAS 9, SAS Viya 3.5, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of how to configure, operate, and maintain SAS components used by modelling teams, such as CAS-like concepts, libraries, folders, and access control.
  • Ability to support modelers in publishing, deploying, and troubleshooting analytical or risk models.
  • Experience working with SAS CLI and basic scripting, and following existing automation patterns.
  • Ability to perform root-cause analysis of issues in model execution, platform configuration, or user workflows.
  • Basic knowledge of Azure, such as Azure DevOps pipelines and Azure SQL Database, and willingness to develop these skills further.
  • Ability to interpret logs, diagnose issues, and collaborate with platform engineers when deeper infrastructure-level support is needed.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts.
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, reliable, proactive, eager to learn, and committed to continuously improving the platform.

Additional advantages include:

  • Knowledge of Azure SQL, ADLS, or exposure to Azure Fabric and analytics components.
  • Experience supporting users in analytical or modelling environments.
  • Experience operating and maintaining databases such as Oracle or Azure SQL.
  • Understanding of general security standards, access control, and data governance.

Team

You will join a platform-focused squad providing a stable, secure, and easy-to-use SAS environment that enables ING modelling teams to develop, deploy, and run analytical models efficiently.

The platform is evolving towards SAS Viya 4, while some components still operate on earlier SAS generations. Core cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes, Azure Fabric, networking, and scaling, is handled by a dedicated engineering team. The focus of this role is SAS configuration, model onboarding, operational readiness, and support for the modelling lifecycle.

You will collaborate with SAS experts, DevOps engineers, and cloud specialists, working closely with business stakeholders to ensure high-quality and reliable modelling capabilities for ING entities worldwide.

The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be “Engineer III” or “Engineer IV”.
