Are you passionate about data and technology, and eager to start your career in engineering? As a Junior Data Engineer at ABN AMRO, you will work with experienced engineers on modern data platforms and cloud technologies that help deliver value to millions of customers. You will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to impactful projects while developing your technical skills.
The role is part of an Agile DevOps team responsible for building and maintaining data solutions that support business processes and decision-making across the bank. The position uses a hybrid working model, allowing work from home and from the office in consultation with the team.
Responsibilities
- Help develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Work with cloud-based technologies and data platforms in Azure.
- Support the development of reliable and scalable data solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data processing jobs.
- Learn and apply engineering best practices, including testing, automation, and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to deliver valuable solutions.
You will gain hands-on experience with technologies such as Azure, Python, Databricks, Kafka, and Airflow.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Basic knowledge of programming, preferably Python.
- Basic understanding of databases and data processing concepts.
- Interest in cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to learn and grow within a Data Engineering role.
- Experience through internships, university projects, personal projects, or certifications in Azure, Databricks, Kafka, or Airflow is a plus.
