Details

Are you an experienced Data Scientist interested in the financial sector and banking products? The Transaction Banking Data Domain supports strategic, operational, and tactical decision-making through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative analytics and AI solutions using machine learning, generative AI, and AI agents.
  • Turn business challenges into actionable, data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Lead projects from idea through implementation in collaboration with business and technical teams.
  • Explore large and diverse datasets to identify opportunities, trends, and performance improvements.
  • Advise stakeholders on KPIs, reporting, and decision-making through data storytelling.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, ML Engineers, Architects, and business experts.
  • Drive automation, continuous improvement, and adoption of data-driven ways of working.
  • Keep up to date with AI, generative AI, cloud technologies, and advanced analytics.

Working Environment

The Advanced Analytics & AI Center of Expertise is part of the Transaction Banking Data Domain. It uses advanced analytics, AI, and generative AI to generate insights, improve processes, optimize performance, and support data-driven decision-making across the business.

The team works with business experts, product owners, and leaders to solve complex challenges and create customer value. The Transaction Banking Data Domain includes more than 40 professionals across the Netherlands and India and offers a collaborative, agile, and inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • A degree in STEM or economics/business with an analytics focus.
  • 6–8 years of work experience, including at least 3 years in data science.
  • High proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and coding best practices.
  • Experience with machine learning and AI, including forecasting, prediction, cluster analysis, generative AI, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), document processing, and AI agents.
  • Analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, communication skills, and reporting skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
  • An entrepreneurial attitude.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the financial sector and/or banking products.
  • Experience with Azure, Databricks, or similar cloud platforms.
  • Affinity with data engineering and machine learning engineering.
  • Microsoft DP-100 certification.
  • Knowledge of agile methodology and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Microsoft AZ-900 certification.
