Details
Airbnb is seeking a Lead, Advanced Analytics, to support the Guest App team. This role will support strategic business and product initiatives through detailed data analysis, experimentation, statistical modeling, and the development of reporting tools and metrics. The role will help drive product and strategic decisions related to the Guest App.
Responsibilities
- Work with large and complex data sets to solve challenging problems using analytical and statistical approaches.
- Apply quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, forecasting, and data presentation to identify trends and patterns that inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Data and Analytical Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to measure feature impact and guide product iterations.
- Leverage causal methods when traditional randomized trials are not available.
- Design and build metrics and dimensions to monitor product and business performance.
- Build reporting and analytical tools that empower stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership, in a clear and concise manner.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques.
- Leverage AI to automate repetitive tasks and empower stakeholders.
Requirements
- 6+ years of industry experience and a degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or Operations Research. A Master's degree or PhD is a plus.
- Prior experience in an advanced analytics or product data science role.
- Exceptional business acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to conduct rigorous analysis and make informed judgments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts accessibly and collaborate across functions.
- Experience partnering with product teams to drive action and providing expertise on analytics, data science, experimental design, and measurement.
- Experience analyzing A/B experiments and statistical data.
- Experience designing and building metrics, from conception through prototyping with data pipelines.
- Strong expertise in at least one programming language, Python or R, and SQL.
- Experience with AI-assisted analytics tools such as Claude and ChatGPT.
- An agile, growth-minded approach and a history of driving projects from ideation to impact.
Location
This position is US-remote eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with the manager. Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
Compensation
The base pay range is $164,000–$191,000 USD. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
