Details
The Dev AI team builds foundational AI tooling and infrastructure that powers developer productivity across the software development lifecycle. The team also provides building blocks for domain-specific, internally facing AI tools and operates as both a platform team and an internal AI consultancy.
This role will help shape and execute the technical direction of the team's infrastructure and products, including agentic coding tools, asynchronous AI workflow platforms, SDKs for internal AI application development, and AI-assisted code migration.
Responsibilities
- Help shape and drive the AI for Developers strategy from ideation through shipping, while coding across various technology stacks.
- Make pragmatic architectural and technical decisions that balance ambition with real-world constraints and long-term operability.
- Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape and balance innovation with incremental, measurable developer impact.
- Serve as a champion, expert, coach, and consultant to empower teams and leaders across the company to adopt and use new AI capabilities in their daily workflows.
- Champion engineering excellence through high-quality code, thoughtful design, and reliable systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations and drive operational excellence for the team's platform components.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of industry experience or equivalent depth of expertise.
- Experience building developer infrastructure, tooling, or platforms, ideally at scale and with commonly used industry tools, frameworks, or systems.
- Hands-on experience applying AI technologies to real-world software development challenges.
- Ability to quickly ramp up in new domains, technologies, or programming languages, along with a genuine interest in continuous learning.
- Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in one or more of Go, Python, TypeScript, or Kotlin.
- Bachelor's and/or master's degree or equivalent experience.
Location
This position is US remote eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with the manager. Employees must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
Compensation
The base pay range is $162,000–$190,000 USD per year. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
