Reddit's Engagement Modeling Team builds machine learning models to drive on-platform user engagement with diverse media and content, focusing on predictive modeling to improve click-through and video view-through interactions. This role will shape and scale Reddit's Ads prediction models while advancing state-of-the-art modeling in alignment with product goals.

The role is suited to a leader with deep machine learning expertise, strategic vision, and a collaborative mindset for working with technical and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the engagement modeling roadmap, balancing innovative modeling approaches with business objectives.
• Oversee the model development lifecycle from ideation through deployment, ensuring high standards for machine learning performance and robustness.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain machine learning talent while fostering growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Partner with product managers, data scientists, and engineering teams to align on engagement strategies, data requirements, and model KPIs.
• Implement and optimize model architectures for engagement prediction using deep learning and advanced machine learning techniques.
• Develop and communicate long-term technical strategy aligned with broader company objectives and internal customer needs.
• Lead a diverse, high-impact team and foster collaboration across Ads, product management, data science, and engineering functions.

Requirements

• At least 2+ years of experience building and managing high-performing machine learning teams, ideally in the Ads domain; tech lead experience may also be considered.
• Deep hands-on experience with machine learning models and deploying them in large-scale production systems.
• Proven experience training, evaluating, and deploying large-scale models across the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Ability to plan and execute a long-term technical strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Passion for developing scalable, well-designed, and responsible AI solutions that drive business value.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences and build strong cross-functional relationships.
• Experience with Ads or engagement modeling is a plus.

Pay Transparency

The base salary range for this position is $230,000–$322,000 USD. Final offer amounts depend on factors including skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses or credentials. The position may span more than one career level.
