Details
Anthropic is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for building and running anthropic.com and claude.com. These brand web surfaces support research, product launches, policy work, and Anthropic's brand. The role manages a small, senior team of web engineers and owns the full stack behind the marketing web experience, including CMS architecture, publishing workflows, the coded design system, and campaign and launch experiences tied to model and product releases.
The role is part of Brand Creative and partners closely with design, editorial, marketing, and product growth engineering. Anthropic is seeking a player-coach who can set technical direction, remain close to the code and launches, and build tooling that enables designers and editors to publish without engineering involvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow the team through coaching, hiring, and setting standards for craft and reliability.
- Own the technical roadmap for anthropic.com and claude.com, including CMS architecture, publishing workflows, performance, SEO health, localization, the production design system, deployment pipelines, on-call, and incident response.
- Lead engineering for model, product, and campaign launches, delivering high-quality pages under tight and changing timelines.
- Build internal tools, integrations, and Claude-in-the-loop workflows that enable designers, writers, and marketers to publish safely without engineering becoming a bottleneck.
- Partner with design and editorial on creative technology, data visualizations, interactive explainers, and campaign experiences requiring custom engineering.
- Align web engineering work with Marketing, Product, Communications, and core Engineering while prioritizing work that advances brand and business goals.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience and 5+ years managing engineers, specifically in a marketing, brand, or design engineering organization.
- Experience owning a high-traffic marketing or brand web surface end to end, including CMS, frontend, infrastructure, and publishing workflows.
- Strong frontend expertise with TypeScript, React, modern CSS, and a modern headless CMS.
- A preference for staying close to the code.
- Experience building tooling that makes non-engineers faster and safer, with measurable results.
- Experience shipping under launch pressure with cross-functional partners while maintaining quality.
- Ability to work at the intersection of Design, Marketing, and Engineering.
- Deep interest in AI and enthusiasm for incorporating Claude into the build and publishing process.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The field of study should be relevant to the role through coursework, training, or professional experience.
Strong candidates may also have experience as a Head of Web Engineering or equivalent platform lead, building localization and multi-region web infrastructure, working at a company where brand and product web were closely connected, or leading design systems and component libraries shipped to production.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation and benefits.
- Optional equity donation matching.
- Generous vacation and parental leave.
- Flexible working hours.
- Office space for collaboration.
- Visa sponsorship may be available; Anthropic states that it sponsors visas and makes reasonable efforts to support candidates, though sponsorship is not guaranteed for every role or candidate.
The role follows a location-based hybrid policy. Staff are currently expected to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office time.
