At ABN AMRO Clearing, we’re looking for a Senior Operational Risk Manager to strengthen our Global Operational Risk Management function.
Your role is key in ensuring effective coverage of operational risk instruments, risk types, and deliverables, while driving strong global alignment within Clearing and with ABN AMRO Bank, with a clear focus on leveraging data, AI, and automation to enhance efficiency and impact.
Your job
You’ll operate at the heart of (strategic) decision-making in an increasingly digital world:
- Lead strategic, enterprise-wide risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate complex risks
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing challenge and insight on critical risk decisions
- Drive the advancement of data risk frameworks, strengthening governance, controls, and resilience
- Embed AI, automation, and emerging risk domains into Operational Risk Management practices
- Translate risk data into actionable insights while influencing global stakeholders and leading risk transformation initiatives

ABN AMRO Clearing Bank (AACB) is a specialized subsidiary of ABN AMRO with its own banking license and about 1,000 employees worldwide. Operating as a largely self-sufficient organization, AACB provides clearing services across major global markets, holds leading exchange positions, and delivers reliable market infrastructure. Due to its systemic importance, it is closely supervised by regulators and central banks across multiple jurisdictions.
Aligned with the ABN AMRO Three Lines of Defence model, the Operational Risk Management (ORM) function within Clearing acts as the second line of defence. This function is responsible for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring operational risks that could affect the continuity, reliability, and security of clearing activities. Operating globally, ORM ensures consistent risk oversight and the implementation of robust control frameworks across all regions.
Your profile
You bring expertise, vision, and strong executive presence:
- Academic level
- 7+ years in Operational / Enterprise Risk Management (financial services preferred)
- Strong experience in Data Risk & Data Governance
- Proven track record in strategic risk & transformation initiatives
- Solid understanding of AI, automation & tech risk
- Experience in clearing or capital markets is a plus (not required)
- Ability to challenge, influence, and simplify complexity
- International stakeholder management skills
- A mindset that sees risk as an enabler of innovation
