About the Team
OpenAI’s mission is to ensure that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity. The Codex team plays a key role by changing how software gets built and who can build it. The team works across research, engineering, product, and design to build an AI software engineer that users can pair with, delegate to, or ask to take on future tasks proactively.
Design plays a critical role in making coding agents intuitive and accessible. As an early team member, you will help shape product direction and design culture while creating products that are easy to use, beautiful, and push the boundaries of what is possible.
About the Role
As a product designer on Codex, you will collaborate with product designers and cross-functional partners to shape the future of coding. You will partner closely with engineers and researchers to bring cutting-edge capabilities to developers. The work is largely 0-to-1, requiring a balance of high-quality craft, fast iteration, and strong product intuition.
You will work on the end-to-end design of new features and improvements across a range of Codex products and help guide the evolution of the technology, product, and design paradigms.
This role is based in San Francisco, California. OpenAI uses a hybrid work model requiring three days in the office per week and offers relocation assistance to new employees.
