Product Designer, Core Apps

Anthropic is seeking a Product Designer to help shape how people experience Claude and build reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The role sits at the intersection of craft, research, product intuition, and emerging AI capabilities. The designer will work closely with product managers, engineers, AI researchers, and other stakeholders to create polished, trustworthy products and invent interaction patterns that feel native to AI.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, AI researchers, and other stakeholders to define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps, and actively contribute to shipping products.
• Understand the technical architecture of products and define primitives for new capabilities.
• Define feature areas with exceptional attention to detail and polish, identifying opportunities to improve the quality and consistency of broader user flows.
• Craft polished and delightful user interfaces that build trust and showcase the capabilities of AI technology.
• Work comfortably across code, design, and prototypes while learning new ways to communicate ideas and concepts.
• Find creative ways to ship high-quality work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, resource-constrained startup environment.
• Question fundamental UI assumptions and invent patterns that feel native to AI.
• Use tools such as Claude Code to extend the design and prototyping process.

Requirements

• Experience designing and shipping complex workflows, enterprise or B2B SaaS products, developer tools, or API products end-to-end.
• Proven track record of executing end-to-end on large and complex products, or a series of products, in ambiguous environments.
• Portfolio demonstrating user-centered design thinking and polished UI craftsmanship.
• Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code as a creative partner in design practice.
• Experience prototyping with front-end code such as HTML, CSS, or JavaScript is preferred.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.
• Passion for crafting scaled, impactful, safe, and beneficial artificial intelligence technologies.
• Minimum education is a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The field of study must be relevant to the role through coursework, training, or professional experience.

• Core Apps: Build tools for coding, work, design, and other daily activities, shaping how people leverage AI at work.
• Growth: Design onboarding flows, identify barriers to adoption, and create experiences that help users understand Claude's capabilities.
• Developer Platform: Support AI capabilities and API features through tooling, workflows, and documentation for developers building, monitoring, and controlling agentic systems.
• Enterprise & Verticals: Design experiences for organizational knowledge work, administration, governance, and workforce-wide AI adoption.
