Details
Customer.io is seeking a Product Manager to improve how customers experience their first weeks with the platform. The role focuses on the self-serve customer journey and works alongside the Senior Product Manager on the self-serve pod. The Product Manager will own a defined part of the journey, supported by data, experimentation capabilities, and cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities
- Own the self-serve product experience across signup, onboarding, activation, and upgrade.
- Identify and resolve friction points using data, experimentation, and customer insights.
- Define and track success metrics for activation, retention, and monetization.
- Partner with Marketing, Customer Experience, and Design to maintain a consistent experience across touchpoints.
- Work with Engineering to scope and deliver improvements that reduce time-to-value.
- Run A/B tests and growth experiments to improve conversion and engagement.
- Communicate priorities and progress clearly across teams and leadership.
Requirements
- 3+ years of product management experience in SaaS, ideally with self-serve or product-led growth exposure.
- Experience using or developing AI-powered tooling in a product workflow.
- Track record of improving activation or retention metrics.
- Strong analytical and experimentation skills, with the ability to work comfortably with ambiguity.
- Experience collaborating across Product, Marketing, and Customer Experience.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to simplify complexity and drive alignment.
- Deep curiosity about what helps customers succeed.
- Comfort working autonomously in a remote, async-first environment.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary is $137,000β$156,000 USD, or the equivalent in local currency, depending on experience and subject to market rate adjustment. Listed compensation zones are:
- Zone 1: $164,400β$187,200
- Zone 2: $150,700β$171,600
- Zone 3: $137,000β$156,000
