Details

Perplexity is scaling its enterprise business and building an API-first, Snowflake-native operating system for its go-to-market stack. This role owns the technical layer supporting the enterprise sales motion, including CPQ, account and lead scoring, data orchestration, and integrations across Salesforce, Snowflake, and other go-to-market systems.

The role involves writing SQL in Snowflake, building Salesforce flows, configuring CPQ rules, debugging Workato recipes, and developing Python scripts to resolve data issues.

Responsibilities

  • Own CPQ and quote-to-cash configuration, including product catalogs, pricing rules, approval workflows, discount governance, and contract generation.
  • Build and maintain account scoring, lead scoring, PLG activation scoring, and intent signal aggregation models in Snowflake.
  • Push scoring data to Salesforce through reverse ETL.
  • Own Polytomic, Hightouch, and Workato pipelines connecting Snowflake, Salesforce, NetSuite, Apollo, Unify, and other systems.
  • Manage pipeline SLAs, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Engineer Salesforce solutions using flows, validation rules, formula fields, custom objects, Apex when needed, Lightning page configuration, permission sets, and sandbox management.
  • Develop API-level integrations and custom connectors when off-the-shelf solutions are insufficient.
  • Build account routing logic, opportunity assignment rules, territory management, and rules-of-engagement enforcement.
  • Develop Snowflake models supporting pipeline, forecast, compensation, and executive reporting.
  • Partner with Analytics on the reporting visualization layer.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Systems, Revenue Operations Engineering, Salesforce Engineering, or Enterprise Systems at a high-growth SaaS company.
  • Deep Salesforce expertise, including flows, formula fields, validation rules, custom objects, sharing models, and Apex when needed.
  • Hands-on CPQ experience with Salesforce CPQ, Stripe Billing, Maxio, or a similar platform, including pricing, approvals, and quote generation.
  • Strong SQL skills, including production-grade Snowflake queries and dbt-style transformation logic.
  • Production experience with reverse ETL tools such as Polytomic, Hightouch, or Census.
  • Experience with iPaaS tools such as Workato, Tray, or Zapier at scale.
  • Comfort working with REST APIs, webhooks, and Python or JavaScript scripting.
  • A bias toward building custom solutions when vendor options are insufficient.
  • An operator mindset and the ability to translate seller requests into shipped fixes without requiring a project manager.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with PLG-to-enterprise motions and scoring users into accounts.
  • Experience with Apollo, Unify, Loops, Gatsby, Momentum, Floqer, or similar go-to-market tools.
  • NetSuite or Metronome billing experience.
  • Experience with compensation plan tools such as Everstage, CaptivateIQ, or QuotaPath.
  • Background in entity resolution, deduplication, or domain enrichment.

How We Work

  • Build over buy when it earns its keep.
  • Snowflake is the source of truth, while Salesforce is the system of action.
  • Prefer live data over polling.
  • Assign accounts to real people rather than queues.
  • Work directly, quickly, and with minimal process.

Success Metrics

  • Within 90 days, own CPQ, scoring, and orchestration; ensure failures are not silent and sellers know whom to contact.
  • Within 180 days, establish clean quote-to-cash processes, use scoring to drive routing decisions, and make Snowflake-to-Salesforce synchronization reliable.
  • Within 12 months, replace two vendors with custom builds, deliver the next generation of the scoring system, and improve the seller experience.
