Details

Collibra's Artificial Intelligence team builds production AI features that provide enterprise data context for LLMs and agents while keeping that context and the AI governed, secure, and compliant. This role focuses on shipping AI capabilities directly into the Collibra product, including streaming responses, agent loops with checkpointing and resumption, and AI systems operating at scale.

The role involves working closely with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, MLOps Engineers, and teams across Collibra to take AI products from prototype through production and ongoing operation.

Responsibilities

  • Ship AI features into Collibra's live product for enterprise customers and government agencies.
  • Build, instrument, and evaluate AI/ML models and treat silent or no-output failures as defects.
  • Help shape the evolution of Collibra's AI platform.
  • Mentor other engineers.
  • Build and operate production AI systems, including streaming responses, agent loops, checkpointing, resumption, and autonomous actions.
  • Contribute to AI/ML features running in Collibra's SaaS platform and help guide future product development.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience building and running production systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience applying data science or machine learning in production, including LLM applications, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), natural language processing, or recommendation engines.
  • Hands-on experience with agent-loop frameworks such as LangGraph and tool-calling standards such as MCP, including tool cycles, state across steps, human-in-the-loop interrupts, checkpointing, and resumption.
  • Experience with agent harness architecture, including sandboxed code execution, tool permissioning, and safely orchestrating autonomous actions.
  • Experience with agent evaluation frameworks for testing tool-calling behavior and agent trajectories.
  • Strong observability practices, particularly for detecting silent or no-output turns.
  • Experience with retrieval and RAG, including hybrid semantic and keyword search, rank fusion, and precision/recall tradeoffs.
  • Experience building stateless services at scale using multi-replica deployments, without sticky sessions, and supporting concurrent requests.
  • Comfort with SQL and relational databases, plus familiarity with time-series, graph, or vector databases.
  • Strong command of modern Python typing and validation, including Pydantic v2, and production AI tooling such as LangChain and LangGraph.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication, and product-oriented skills.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development and the ability to understand, own, and evaluate generated code and its cost.

Working Arrangement

This is a hybrid role. The posting identifies New York, New York, USA and states that the role is based in Collibra's Brussels office. The hybrid model requires working from the office at least two days each week.

Benefits

  • Competitive total rewards package.
  • Bonus potential.
  • Equity for eligible roles.
  • Flex Fund monthly stipend.
  • Pension or 401(k) plans.
  • Health coverage and time off.
