Senior AI Product Engineer

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior AI Product Engineer to join its AI for Media team in Santa Clara. The role focuses on turning advanced AI capabilities into production-ready products and collaborating with engineering, product, developers, and lighthouse partners.

Responsibilities

• Build reference pipeline implementations leveraging AI for Media NIMs and SDKs, including robust error handling, controls, and observability.
• Create cookbooks and Jupyter notebooks demonstrating AI model capabilities across multiple use cases.
• Develop Python SDK bindings to improve functionality and accessibility.
• Assess and report on the AI4Media first-run experience, identify and resolve issues before customer impact, and use telemetry to understand developer engagement.
• Conduct benchmarking through standardized tests and leaderboard tracking.
• Support external developers by prioritizing GitHub issues, answering technical questions in community channels, and contributing to the product roadmap.
• Communicate AI software technical details to Product and help define product and software requirements documents, including PRDs and SRDs.
• Participate in lighthouse-partner engagements to support successful software integration.
• Lead engineering projects focused on benchmarking, data flywheels, and GitHub improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Python and experience building front-end applications with TypeScript and JavaScript.
• 3+ years of experience authoring cookbooks, Jupyter notebooks, and technical documentation, as well as contributing to open-source initiatives.
• 3+ years of product management experience related to delivering AI software as an on-premises or cloud service.
• Experience shipping LLM-backed features, including prompting, tool and function calling, structured outputs, retrieval, agent loops, and evaluation.
• Proficiency with software development, visualization, project tracking, and front-end technologies and tools, including Python, C++, Tableau, JIRA, JavaScript, and React.
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts in developer-friendly content.
• AI product expertise and experience drafting SRDs or PRDs.
• Strong understanding of the AI development lifecycle.
• Self-directed, data-driven, and capable of creative problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

• Public artifacts demonstrating contributions to open-source projects, notebooks, blog posts, or talks.
• Experience in developer relations, developer experience, solutions engineering, or forward-deployed engineering.
• Hands-on experience with fine-tuning, distillation, or serving and inference optimization.
• Public speaking experience at workshops, conferences, or livestreams.

Compensation And Benefits

The base salary range is USD 200,000–322,000. Salary is determined based on location, experience, and compensation for employees in similar positions. The role also includes eligibility for equity and benefits.
