SpaceXAI is seeking a Safety Operations Senior Analyst focused on Child Safety to help train and refine Grok for terms-of-service enforcement and safety support functions. The role contributes to product safety across X and Grok by minimizing risks, enforcing company rules, preventing illegal and harmful content, and promoting responsible AI development.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and take action on content and behavior that violates the terms of service, escalating cases as needed.
- Apply deep expertise in online child safety to identify, investigate, and mitigate child safety threats and risks.
- Investigate complex child safety cases and determine when escalation to internal legal teams or external reporting organizations, such as NCMEC, is required.
- Respond to time-sensitive escalations involving high-impact and ambiguous situations.
- Process appeals, audit automations, and accurately label use cases in internal systems.
- Provide labels, annotations, and inputs for projects involving safety protocols, risk scenarios, and policy compliance.
- Support the delivery of curated, high-quality data that reinforces company rules and ethical alignment.
- Collaborate with team members to improve AI defenses against illegal and unethical behavior and align Grok with enforcement rules.
Requirements
- Expertise in improving Large Language Models (LLMs), specifically in relation to child sexual exploitation (CSE), to improve enforcement and support efficiency and propose solutions that increase platform security and safety.
- Proven expertise identifying, mitigating, and preventing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), including grooming behaviors and risks in AI-generated content.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legal obligations, including NCMEC reporting, and industry standards for protecting minors.
- Proven experience in online safety and reducing harm while protecting users and preserving free speech.
- Ability to interpret and apply safety policies effectively.
- Strong ethical reasoning, risk assessment, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to use resources, guidelines, and frameworks to make accurate safety-focused decisions and escalations.
- Commitment to continuously improving processes that prioritize safety and risk mitigation.
- Expertise in data analysis to identify emerging abuse vectors, uncover operational efficiencies, and design automations that strengthen enforcement effectiveness and platform safety.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in online child safety, criminal investigations, Trust & Safety operations, or a closely related field.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Trust and Safety experience at a social media company using AI or other automation tools.
- Experience collaborating with child safety organizations such as NCMEC.
- Experience using specialized detection tools or developing classifiers for CSAM/CSE in social media or generative AI platforms.
- Expertise in red-teaming and adversarial testing of LLMs to identify novel abuse vectors, jailbreaks, and safety failure modes, and translate findings into enforcement and platform robustness improvements.
This role may involve exposure to sensitive or graphic content, including vulgar language, violent threats, pornography, and other graphic images.
