Customer.io is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science & Analytics to lead and evolve its internal data science and analytics function. The team serves as a strategic partner across Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience, helping the company make better decisions through forecasting, experimentation, behavioral analytics, and rigorous measurement.

The role requires strong leadership, analytical and technical rigor, and business acumen. The data team operates as a trusted advisor to the business by bringing clarity through ambiguity, uncovering opportunities, and supporting faster, smarter operations at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Data Scientists and Analysts supporting Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience.
  • Lead behavioral analytics, customer segmentation, experimentation, and product measurement efforts.
  • Help teams understand customer behavior, evaluate product performance, and prioritize roadmap investments.
  • Develop and maintain revenue forecasts, churn models, customer health scores, and account or opportunity scoring models.
  • Partner with the data engineering team to manage the internal agentic data analytics platform, Smarty, supporting self-service data access and analytics.
  • Define standards and best practices for analytics and data science.
  • Refine operational frameworks to drive efficiency and scale across the team.
  • Partner with senior leaders, influence strategy, and communicate complex findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, Product Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong expertise in experimentation, forecasting, statistical analysis, and product or business analytics.
  • Advanced SQL skills and proficiency with Python or similar analytical tools.
  • Experience defining metrics, measurement frameworks, and analytical approaches that support product, growth, and business decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders and influence strategy.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on analytical work when needed.
  • Experience with modern analytics platforms and data warehouses, including Snowflake, dbt, and product analytics tools.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, product-led growth, or subscription-based businesses is preferred.
  • Based in the Americas and comfortable working remotely.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Starting salary of $170,000–$200,000 USD, depending on experience and subject to market rate adjustment.
