Senior Manager, Technical Education

Airbnb is seeking a leader to oversee technical education for its Tech organization. The TechEd team delivers new-hire bootcamps, EngU and DataU programming, technical lunch-and-learn sessions, and the Engineering apprentice program Connect. The role also supports AI skills enablement.

Responsibilities

• Connect with stakeholders to identify skill gaps and conduct needs assessments.
• Establish the vision and strategy for technical education.
• Coach the team and provide feedback on programs and initiatives.
• Provide subject matter expertise in learning science and skill acquisition.
• Collaborate with the Tech Learning and Development team to build and execute high-impact programs and initiatives.
• Partner with vendors and consultants to execute the TechEd strategy and vision.
• Promote a culture of learning across the Tech organization.
• Report learning impact and outcomes to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Tech L&D colleagues to advance programming and outcomes.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience guiding strategy and execution for technical education, including bootcamps, lunch-and-learns, apprenticeship programs, or technical upskilling for practitioners.
• 5+ years of experience as a people manager.
• Direct technical expertise with coding or data science is a bonus.
• Track record of creative, best-in-class experience design and a commitment to innovation and experimentation.
• Demonstrated ability to shape a vision and execute the associated roadmap.
• Experience scaling and designing initiatives, processes, and tools for an organization of approximately 3,000 people.
• Experience working with vendors and partners to execute a vision.
• Comfort with learning technologies and educational technology.
• Curiosity about new technologies and best practices in learning and development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
• Data-driven approach to evaluating and measuring learning experiences.
• Exceptional understanding of Technology and Engineering organizations and how they operate.

Location

This position is eligible for remote work in the United States. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with the manager. Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Compensation

The base pay range is $192,000–$237,000 USD per year. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
