Details
Airbnb's Trust & Safety team includes engineers, data scientists, designers, product managers, and operations professionals who build safety products, machine learning models, defenses against risky actors, and investigation tools. The team defines community standards and policies while working to protect guests and hosts worldwide.
As a Product Manager on the Trust & Safety team, you will identify customer pain points and business opportunities and define and deliver products that help create a safe and trusted community. You will focus on safety initiatives designed to reduce incidents such as interpersonal harm and illegal activities.
Responsibilities
- Create the vision and strategy for Trust & Safety products and platforms.
- Lead cross-functional working groups of engineers, data scientists, designers, operations experts, and policy experts to ensure alignment, execution, and successful launches.
- Maintain the product backlog and roadmap, and own prioritization based on business value and customer impact.
- Define goals and success metrics using measurable objectives and key results.
- Build alignment across product teams, Trust & Safety teams, and leadership and executive teams.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, make tradeoffs, and balance business needs, customer needs, and technical or operational constraints.
- Present product roadmaps and status updates to the business and Airbnb leadership.
- Evaluate product opportunities and propose buy, build, or partner solutions for new capabilities, using data and user needs as key inputs.
- Develop short-term plans aligned with long-term goals to iteratively build platform capabilities that defend against safety issues.
- Become a thought leader and entrepreneur within Airbnb for product and platform-building knowledge, processes, and methods.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience.
- Prior product, operations, or engineering experience in trust, safety, risk, or fraud.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for diverse stakeholders, including global C-level executives, product teams, and technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience building machine learning products or working in technical product management.
- Experience with design and hypothesis-driven product development.
- Entrepreneurial drive and the ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional collaboration, partnership, and influencing skills, with the ability to work globally across multiple locations and time zones to drive consensus.
- Experience leading teams through ambiguity and high-stakes tradeoff decisions.
Location
This position is US remote eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with the manager. Employees must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity; eligibility depends on the employing Airbnb entity and applicable state restrictions.
