Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join its Product Design organization and work on Grafana Cloud’s Knowledge Graph. The role is fully remote and based in Germany.

The Knowledge Graph is the context layer of Grafana Cloud, powering the entity graph, entity catalog, and RCA workbench. It automatically discovers services, infrastructure, and databases from existing telemetry, maps dependencies, and runs anomaly detection to help engineers, SREs, and their agents understand systems and resolve incidents faster.

The successful candidate will develop deep expertise in the product area, customer personas, use cases, and workflows. They will also contribute to the evolution of Grafana’s Product Design team by coaching and mentoring designers, collaborating on internal initiatives, and helping develop new ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Enable customers to understand and explore how their systems connect, presenting complex and constantly changing information clearly without overwhelming users.
• Translate research and data into accessible experiences that break down complexity.
• Tailor experiences to different target audiences and user perspectives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, technical writing, go-to-market teams, and other Product Design team members.
• Prioritize impact while balancing business priorities, customer needs, and technical considerations.
• Document user needs and pain points, design directions, UX trade-offs, and detailed designs for features and enhancements.
• Conduct research and contribute to quantitative and qualitative research initiatives with researchers, cross-functional collaborators, customers, and the Grafana user community.
• Coach and mentor other designers and contribute to team initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant design experience working on B2B or enterprise software products, ideally tools and services for developers or other highly technical users.
• A portfolio demonstrating effective designs for complex products delivered in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience conducting qualitative research in complex fields and building empathy with users, their needs, and pain points.
• Ability to balance business goals, product priorities, customer feedback, research insights, and technical considerations when making design decisions.
• Ability to collaborate with distributed cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time zones.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn a complex, technical product domain.
• Experience working in a fully remote, fast-paced environment with transparency and autonomy.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience designing complex, data-dense interfaces with a focus on clarity.
• Ability to quickly understand technical domains, customer needs, and user workflows.
• Domain knowledge or experience in observability, cloud infrastructure, or database monitoring.
• Experience helping design teams, particularly at engineering-led companies, improve their practice, collaboration, and user and organizational impact.

• Base compensation in Germany: EUR 88,240–EUR 105,888 per year.
