Details

The Financial Systems team provides technology expertise to the finance department and is responsible for SAP, HANA, and connected third-party systems at Booking.com.

The team is building a finance application platform that simplifies business processes and provides the finance community with better financial insights. The SAP environment runs on HANA, with a Simple Finance migration completed in 2016 and an S/4HANA financial transformation started in 2021.

As a Senior SAP FI Specialist, you will design solutions for new initiatives, optimize SAP operations, configure and modify functionalities, and transform existing processes. You will use your SAP FICO and FICA expertise to design solutions that meet business objectives.

Responsibilities

Take full ownership of projects and the quality of changes, including planning, communication, coordination, compliance, customization, go-live, and hypercare.
Design scalable and innovative SAP solutions.
Prepare solution design documents, functional design documents, configuration rationale, testing plans, and deployment activities.
Partner with business owners and digital teams to identify improvement opportunities and propose suitable solution designs.
Interact daily with functional specialists and developers across finance and IT departments.
Analyze issues and changes and provide day-to-day support and incident resolution.
Train key users and provide key-user support.
Contribute to improving project delivery and development methodologies.
Make fast decisions in a dynamic environment with some level of uncertainty.

Requirements

SAP Finance Core and Architectural Setup

Proven hands-on experience designing and setting up global templates end to end, including enterprise structure and global organization setup.
Expert configuration experience with:
- Controlling Area, Operating Concern (CO-PA), and Company Code.
- Chart of Accounts.
- Ledgers, currencies, segments, and fiscal year/posting period variants.
- Cost Center and Profit Center hierarchies.
- Internal Order types and Account Groups.
- Chart of Depreciation, Depreciation Areas, and Asset Classes.
Direct hands-on experience with SAP RISE Private Cloud Edition.
Experience leading SAP RISE Explore phase workshops to define enterprise standards.
In-depth knowledge of SAP RISE product offerings.

FICA and BRIM

At least one full-cycle implementation of SAP FICA or BRIM / Convergent Invoicing, either greenfield or brownfield.
Strong understanding of how high-volume billing data flows from digital interfaces into the General Ledger.

Financial Modules and Controlling

Deep expertise in General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Asset Accounting.
Hands-on configuration experience with Bank Communication Management (BCM).
Experience with specialized intercompany accounting processes.
Advanced knowledge of Controlling and Profitability Analysis for business insights and financial reporting.
Proficiency mapping business processes across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.

Integration and Stakeholder Management

Excellent knowledge of integrating SAP FI with complex legacy systems and external digital interfaces.
Solid understanding of data mapping across FI-GL, Business Partners, and payment gateways.
Strong understanding of finance processes and their integration with legacy systems.
Fluent English with strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
Experience managing high-level stakeholders and delivering technical presentations to non-technical audiences.
Ability to derive decisions and conclude discussions among different stakeholder groups.
