Details

Confluent is rewriting how data moves and what the world can do with it. In this role, you will be working on building a highly available, performant, reliable, durable, scalable, and multi-tenant storage engine for Kora, a managed service for clients who demand high levels of availability and performance at the lowest cost of ownership.

Responsibilities

Build the software underpinning the mission-critical Confluent Cloud storage engine, including designing, developing and operationalizing high performance, scalable, reliable and resilient systems.
Independently drive execution of software projects to deliver complex projects in production with a focus on quality.
Identify root causes and dig deep to solve hard problems.
Troubleshoot issues and improve operations for a complex technical stack that spans all the 3 clouds.
Make decisions that benefit the team and company, with a strong sense of teamwork.
Be customer focused by taking on customers’ most challenging problems.

Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of relevant cloud infrastructure/cloud networking experience.
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development.
Experience building and operating large-scale systems in the Cloud.
Solid understanding of basic systems operations (disk, network, operating systems, etc).
Ability to work effectively in teams.
Proficiency in Java, Scala, C/C++, Go or other statically typed languages.
