Bloomberg VAULT is a platform for storing, surveilling, and reconstructing customer communications and financial transaction data across global enterprises. The platform supports Bloomberg Message, Instant Bloomberg, Email, Messaging, Mobile, Files, Trades, Voice, and social media services such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, and Zoom.

VAULT processes millions of messages daily and stores trillions of archived objects. The team is expanding its offerings to support the scale and complexity of modern compliance workflows.

Responsibilities

Build high-performance, distributed data pipelines and services.
Lead technical direction and ensure alignment with business needs.
Collaborate across teams using modern open-source technologies, including Kafka, FastAPI, Airflow, and Spark.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to an inclusive team culture.

Systems And Applications

Communications surveillance.
Archival and search across communications and trades.
Trade reconstruction.
Case management.
Web-based applications.
Platform foundations that support consistency and scalability across VAULT applications.
Massive ingestion pipelines, long-term storage, and high-performance querying across trillions of records.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 4 years of professional experience with an object-oriented programming language.
Deep background in distributed, high-volume, high-availability systems.
Fluency in AI development tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with big data ecosystems such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, Cassandra, Redis, and Airflow.
Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as S3-compatible storage.
SaaS or PaaS development experience.
Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Compensation And Benefits

The salary range is $160,000–$240,000 USD annually, plus benefits and bonus.
