As a Senior Staff Forward Deployed Engineer, AI, you will extend SentinelOne's engineering capacity directly into departments including Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Security, People, and Legal. You will embed with stakeholders, scope problems end to end, and ship custom full-stack applications into their hands in days or weeks rather than quarters. The role combines hands-on full-stack engineering, rapid prototyping with modern AI tools, and the judgment to decide when to build, reuse, or decline a request.

Responsibilities

• Embed with a functional department for a defined engagement, conducting discovery to understand workflows and pain points before beginning development.
• Scope, design, and build full-stack custom applications using modern frameworks, AI coding assistants, and internal platform APIs.
• Own delivery end to end, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, training, and handoff.
• Work hands-on with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex to accelerate development and iterate with stakeholders in near real time.
• Make explicit trade-offs between scope, speed, and quality as requirements change, and communicate those trade-offs to stakeholders and leadership.
• Partner with IT, Security, and Data teams to ensure applications meet standards for data security, compliance, and long-term supportability.
• Codify recurring patterns, components, and playbooks into reusable building blocks.
• Share field learnings with platform, product, and data teams.
• Measure success through production adoption and measurable business impact.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated ability to independently design, build, and ship full-stack applications across frontend and backend systems.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language, such as Python, Node.js, or JavaScript, with sufficient frontend skills to build usable internal tools.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and LLM-based tools, including Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
• Working understanding of APIs, webhooks, data structures, and integration patterns.
• Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders, scoping ambiguous requests, managing expectations, and delivering working software.
• Ability to operate autonomously amid shifting priorities across departments and problem spaces.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs to functional vice presidents and engineers.
• Experience in a forward-deployed, solutions engineering, professional services, or startup generalist role is preferred.
• Exposure to enterprise security, compliance, or data governance requirements is preferred.

Compensation

The U.S. base salary range is $184,000–$253,000 USD. The range may vary based on the candidate's location, and a different range may apply in some locations.
