The BizTech BI & Analytics team partners with business and finance stakeholders to deliver scalable self-service analytics and AI transformation programs, budgeting and forecasting solutions, reliable data pipelines, and trusted metrics and dashboards.

The Senior Systems Engineer will support Oracle EPM Planning systems and processes, with a focus on introducing AI automation and AI agent capabilities into Finance workflows. The role supports Finance within the Airbnb BizTech organization and combines technical expertise in finance budgeting and forecasting with hands-on experience building AI automation and AI agents.

Responsibilities

Technical Support and System Administration

• Support the design, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle EPM Planning modules, including Financials, Workforce, Capital, Cash Forecast, and Long Range Planning.
• Develop and maintain business rules and calculation scripts, including Groovy scripting for data and forecast modeling.
• Support data flows involving the AWS data warehouse, Oracle ERP Cloud, and Workday using Data Management, EPM Automate, and internal Airbnb integration tools.
• Assist with the monthly Oracle patch cycle, including regression testing and impact analysis of new features.

FP&A Functional Support

• Partner with FP&A to streamline budgeting and forecasting by automating manual offline models and improving data integration to reduce forecast cycle time and improve accuracy.
• Build and maintain reports using EPM Reports.
• Support Finance users with Smart View ad hoc analysis and template creation.
• Support the monthly forecast cycle, resolve issues promptly, and engage Oracle Support when needed.

AI Automation and Agent Development

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents and automated workflows to streamline FP&A processes using native EPM AI capabilities and external AI and automation tooling.
• Identify manual and repetitive Finance and systems processes and apply AI automation to reduce cycle time and manual effort.
• Work with Finance and Technology partners to prioritize AI automation opportunities and deliver AI-generated forecasts, analyses, and insights.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle Hyperion/EPM, including a minimum of 2 years with EPM Cloud.
• Experience with EPM Automate, Groovy scripting, form and report development, application optimization, and user-access administration.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting Finance functions such as FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, or Tax, with solid financial statement literacy.
• Hands-on experience building AI automation and AI agents, including agentic workflows and LLM-based automation using tools such as Claude, Gemini, or GPT.
• Proficiency in SQL for data validation, pipeline troubleshooting, and ad hoc analysis of warehouse tables.
• Experience supporting integrations between Oracle EPM and ERP systems through OIC or equivalent middleware.
• Experience operating data orchestration and ETL/ELT pipelines, including monitoring workflow health, managing and rerunning failed tasks, reviewing execution logs, and coordinating pipeline incidents with owning teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders and document technical processes for non-technical audiences.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable solutions within or outside EPM Planning and recommend options for decision-making.

Location

This position is US remote eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with the manager. The employee must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range is $164,000–$193,000 USD per year. The role may also be eligible for a bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
